Cheetah E-Racing
The Cheetah E-Racing team founded in 2013 by Ariel Rennó Chaves, a student at the Federal University of Itajubá, aims to design and build a formula-type car to participate in the Formula SAE competition, the biggest engineering competition on the planet, which occurs all over the world. Here in Brazil, it takes place annually in Piracicaba – SP with a duration of four days, where we go through two types of tests, dynamic and static. The first place in the electric category is invited to participate in the competition that takes place in the United States, in Michigan. Here in Brazil, unfortunately, the Formula SAE competition is not as recognized as it is abroad, in the USA and Germany competitions, the racetracks are crowded on competition days and team members receive considerable salaries.
Our team currently has approximately 50 members, where we are divided into technical and administrative sub-teams. Our motto is “Factory of leaders”, because everyone here works voluntarily as a team, day, night, dawn, weekend, holidays, vacations, because our time is short, building a car in 365 days is not an easy task.
