Cheetah Racing

Cheetah Racing is a special project focused on building a formula-type combustion-powered car, and competes in Formula SAE. The team emerged in 2011, and only in 2012 did it participate in its first competition, when it was considered the best rookie team. Since then we compete every year in the national stage, in Piracicaba – SP. Last year we achieved our best position so far, taking third place in energy efficiency and sixth place overall, out of about 50 participating teams.

We currently have 50 members and in our organization we are divided into sub-teams, where we have groups focused on engineering and administration. In the engineering sub-teams we have: Brakes, Aerodynamics, Suspension, Powertrain, Transmission, Electronics and Structure. And for the administrative sub-teams we have: Project Management, Marketing and Operations. We also make a hierarchical division, in which, for each subteam described, there is a captain, in addition, we have a general captain. The SAE formula is a competition that has national and international stages. And despite all the achievements, the Cheetah has yet to compete internationally. Our goal in competition is to build a car from scratch every year, and then, at the end of the year, compete, through a series of static and dynamic tests.
