EcoVeículo
The challenge that EcoVeículo offers students is to develop maximum efficiency vehicle prototypes, that is, vehicles that present minimum rates of energy consumption. Through building the prototypes, students learn to manage and execute a project from start to finish. Starting from the challenge of energy saving, the group is involved in the most diverse areas, including engine and transmission mechanics, structure, steering system, aerodynamics, electronics, finance, in addition to the communicative skills that the members develop when relating to companies and professionals.
The project participates in two competitions a year: Energy Efficiency Marathon (São Paulo, SP, Brazil) and Shell Eco-marathon Americas (Detroit, Michigan, USA). Therefore, the objective of the project is to encourage research, while integrating values such as respect for social diversity, energy control and sustainable development. As it is a multidisciplinary work that includes great technical diversity, the project encourages students with different knowledge to work together, aiming at maximum energy efficiency.
