Mountain Baja

The Baja SAE BRASIL program is a challenge launched to Engineering students that offers the chance to apply in practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom, aiming to increase their preparation for the job market.

The MountainBaja Team was founded in 2010, on the Unifei de Itabira campus. Since then, three prototypes have been designed and built. The Team participates annually in two competitions, the National and Regional Baja Stage, organized by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).

The Team is made up of engineering students engaged in the challenge of designing and building an Off-Road vehicle. Members have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice and are divided into 4 sectors: Management, Mechanics, Electronics and Design.

By participating in the Baja SAE program, the student is involved with a real case of development of an Off Road vehicle, from its conception, detailed design, construction and testing. Throughout the project experiences are developed in Software such as Solid Works, ANSYS, Adams, MS Projetc, Illustrator.

In addition to the technical knowledge acquired, the Team seeks to develop its members through participation in social, environmental and business events, adding professionalism, ethics and transparency, commitment, pro-activity and socio-environmental responsibility to its values, forming differentiated professionals capable of the work market.
