Saci Baja SAE
The Baja SAE BRASIL program is a challenge launched to Engineering students that offers the chance to apply in practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom, aiming to increase their preparation for the job market. By participating in the Baja SAE program, the student is involved with a real case of development of an off-road vehicle, from its conception, detailed design, construction and testing.
The Saci team was created in 1999 and since then has designed and built ten Baja prototypes and participates annually in two competitions organized by SAE Brasil. The team is divided into subsystems where its members focus on a more specific area of the project, so members can choose the area in which they prefer to work and can even change subsystems when they find it necessary to work in another area in which they have an affinity.
This rotation within the team combined with good communication between the subsystems allows team members to gain knowledge in different areas and thus become more qualified and prepared professionals for the job market.
Our members learn by putting into practice what is seen in the classroom and also outside it, as they gain experience in software such as SolidWorks, Ansys, Adams, Trello, Proteus, CorelDraw, Photoshop, Sony Vegas, among others, in addition to learning to work in team, to deal with unexpected problems and to plan their activities with the established schedule. Everyone has complete freedom to come up with new ideas and test them in practice, in addition to having direct and indirect contact with the companies that sponsor the team and with other projects and organizations inside and outside Unifei.
The personal and professional growth that a member of our team acquires is immense and they are certainly aspects that will make a big difference in their life and professional future.
